Cuisinart CI670-30BG Chef’s Classic Enameled Cast Iron 7-Quart Round Covered Casserole Review

By on August 21, 2016

The general increase in per capita GDP translates to an increase to the general standard of living.

And when consumer expectations rise while buying power increase, products that used to be “wants” slowly make it’s way into the minds of consumers as “needs”.

Suddenly products that do more than their primary functions become necessary to daily life. This is what happens in a developed economy.

Let’s put it this way.

If a bank give me 1% interest on my account and another offer 0.5%. I would happily sign up with the one with 0.5% interest if it has an ATM close to my residence so that I don’t have to travel across town to access my money.

Does that make sense?

Then you have products like the Cuisinart CI670-30BG casserole that offers more than just a pot for cooking.

No. It’s much more than a pot.

This is one of those beauties that you will find every reason possible to leave it out in the kitchen instead of keeping it in the cabinets just so that you can see it beautify the kitchen.

But the magic with this product is more than just it’s appearance. It has a lot of substance built into it too.

The attention to detail put into designing this modern looking kitchenware leaves no stone unturned in making cooking with it a pleasurable experience.

Just reading through the features will leave any homemaker squeal with delight.

Features of Cuisinart CI670-30BG Chef’s Classic Enameled Cast Iron 7-Quart Round Covered Casserole (7 Quart)

  • Oven safe knob that widens it’s range of usage

  • Induction stovetop compatible

Drawbacks of Cuisinart CI670-30BG

The main issue I had with this casserole is it’s weight. At about 15 pounds, this is something that even a teenager might find too much to handle. And that is without counting what is inside it being cooked.

This item measures 13 x 13 x 6.2 inches.

And the size of this fixture can make it awkward to move about without hitting stuff on the table and stove. But at 7-Quart, what dimensions are you expecting?

Yet if you feel that the size is overwhelming as you seldom cook food in huge portions, there are smaller variants of this product at 3-Quart and 5-Quart.

But to tell you the truth. Unless you have a weird phobia of big kitchenware, I feel that the 7-Quart offers the best value.

Is this product worth your money?

There are many products in the market marketed at the high-end or “affluent” consumer.

This is definitely a luxury product when you consider that you can get a regular cooking pot for less than $10 at a discount store.

Yet if I’m willing to spend on creating my own ideal kitchen, this casserole is something that I will gladly pay for.

Many premium products available in the market advertise themselves as better products, yet as soon as you unbox it from the packaging and use it for the first time, you will realize that it’s not as good as it’s commercials made it out to be.

Cuisinart’s CI670-30BG chef’s classic round covered casserole is the complete opposite.

The moment you see it with your own eyes and hold it with your own hands, you will immediately find that this is worth every dollar that it’s being priced at.

The seamless cooking experience that you will go through will just emphasize the superiority of this pot compared to others.
