Dyson V6 Cord Free Vacuum Review

By on August 15, 2017

The evolution of vacuum cleaner design has been breathtaking over the years.

What used to look like a giraffe without legs spotting an overly long neck now look as futuristic as you can imagine in any of Hollywood’s sci-fi films.

And to tell you the truth, this is what the world of home appliances is trending on these days.

Because there is only so much ground-breaking technology you can advance with on something like a vacuum cleaner, the only real way to consistently create new desire and demand is with aesthetic design.

This is why in this market, we are now seeing an overflow of attractive looking products… that do pretty much the same thing as their predecessors… if not worse.

However the same cannot be said of the Dyson V6 cord free vacuum cleaner.

This is an absolute beauty with a multitude of features to boot. That is without mentioning how this product is taking housekeeping efficiency to a whole new level.

It’s not an exaggeration to say this item scores highly in the looks department. Yet don’t let those looks deceive you into thinking that it has little to offer in terms of inner beauty. It’s definitely not a bimbo.

Drawbacks of the Dyson V6

The first disadvantage that came up instinctively was that the color variants all come in metallic design. This can be a turn off for households that incorporate interiors that are of classic design. It can really look out of place.

And to be honest a 20 minute battery life is not really sufficient if you are one of those who conduct housekeeping only once a week and therefore spends more than 20 minute on cleaning chores.

However, I must admit that I have not tested running it continuously until it dies. So It’s hard to say whether the 20 minutes run time of the V6 is a prudent or optimistic measurement of it’s life per charge.

The third and most obvious drawback is it’s price.

This is without doubt a premiumly priced vacuum cleaner considering that there are quite a few competing brands in this space retailing their flagship products at far less.

So it might not be a wise choice for homeowners who prefers practicality and good value.

Is the Dyson V6 cord free vacuum cleaner worth buying?

The first question you must ask yourself is if you have a budget comfortable enough to spend this type of money on a vacuum cleaner.

If that answer is yes, only then will the question of whether it’s worth buying be relevant because this is one of those home appliances that serves a want rather than a need.

This product combines power with flexibility and aesthetic design.

Most of the time, households have to make a choice between performance levels and looks to keep spending money on products like these affordable. This product combines both looks and power, and that is reflected in it’s price.

And on top of that, a reputable brand that will ring a bell with most homemakers.

Nevertheless, the main selling point in my opinion is it’s modern futuristic look which gives you something to make visitors envy about.

It’s functions and features are very well matched by competing products in this space that’s more affordable.

This is why I mentioned the previous point about budget. Because I would think that a key criteria of buyers for this product is aesthetic design. Not value-for-money.

Another point to note is that the V6 is the entry level product for this range of vacuum cleaners by Dyson. For more power and features, take a look at the V7 Motorhead, V8 Animal, and V8 Absolute.

I would assume that the V6 should be powerful enough for most average households. But if you need that little more oomph in the beast, do check out the other higher end variants.
