Tract House

By on September 27, 2019

A tract house refers to a house that has a very similar appearance to most (or all) other houses in the subdivision or neighborhood.

Not only are they similar in from the outside, they could also be very similar in layout, floor area, number of rooms, etc.

This is because they are mass-produced by builders to save costs via economies of scale.

This also means that the differences in price of different units can be down to market factors such as view, lucky house numbers, corner unit, a house on a specific spot on the street, etc.

They can be classified as a form of manufactured housing or some sort of a row house.

Thus, the opposite of a tract house would be a custom built house.
