With a compact twin tub design, one for washing and one for spinning, this is the overall best portable washing machine when you factor in the price and dimensions.

It has an eye-opening capacity of 8 pounds for the washer and 5 pounds for the spin cycle. Giving it a total capacity of 13 pounds.

Powered by an amazingly quiet 1300rpm motor, this is one machine with real substance under the hood.

With space-friendly dimensions, it would be an ideal addition to the laundry area whether it is for a studio apartment, tiny house, RV, or dormitory, etc.

The washer and spin cycle also have timers installed with a maximum set time of 15 minutes and 5 minutes respectively.

The hose is affixed onto the side of the washing machine and has a hook that latches onto a catch, making it vertically aligned when not in use.

The exterior housing is plastic as you might expect for a washing machine. But it is UL-certified for that added safety peace of mind.

What’s really impressive with this product is how BCP has managed to pack so much functions, features, and value into a washing machine costing less than $100.

This portable washing machine is the overall best and would also be a great addition to a rental apartment.

2) Giantex EP21684

This is another twin tub model with both tubs positioned side-by-side to each other.

With a washer capacity of 11 pounds, it can hold considerably more clothing than BCP SKY2767 when laundry time arrives. The spinner dryer is also slightly larger at 6.6 pounds. The total sums up to 17.6 pounds.

So it’s not surprising that this unit is bigger and heavier than BCP’s model.

While this model is named Giantex portable mini compact twin tub washing machine, when you look at these specifications, you’d wonder why they call it a portable unit at all.

But who are we to judge what consumers might find an item portable or not.

The washer motor and spinner runs powerfully at 300w and 110w respectively. Separate timers allows you to set the time for 15 minutes and 5 minutes respectively.

It comes with a drainage tube. But you have to watch over it while filling up the wash tub with water via the inlet as it lacks the sensors to automatically stop when full.

It comes in 2 color combinations of Blue & White and Gray & White.

Parallel vertical stripes line up the face of the washing machine for design aesthetics. While it has pretty elevated legs to avoid trapping water underneath.

Suitable for small households with more laundry.

3) Della small top load washing machine

This is not the first time we have come across the brand Della when reviewing the best household appliances.

One of their ice makers is rated as one of the best in another comparison review we conducted some time ago.

So when we see Della making an appearance here, we feel more vindicated that we are only recommending the best products by companies with a proven track record of creating great products.

This twin tub washing machine is compact and portable. It also spots both a washer and a spin dryer with a capacity of 11 pounds and 3.3 pounds respectively.

This means it has the same washing capacity as Giantex EP21684 but with half the spin capacity. Making perfect for small and light laundry loads, but able to take on more if and when required.

Also priced at below $100, this product provides exceptional value and really gave Best Choice Products a run for their money as the best value portable washing machine.

4) Haier HLP21N Pulsator

Almost all the portable washing machines we’ve looked at are twin tubbers. This is not because all those available in the market are conceptualized this way. It’s just the best ones tend to be built as twin tubs.

So it’s refreshing to find Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1-Cubic-Foot Portable Washer here.

This is unique on this list as it’s the only one with an equal length and breadth. Making it look like a perfect square when viewed from the top.

• Weight – 43 pounds
• Capacity – 6 lbs washer/spinner

The main reason why Haier is able to design this compact clothes washer in this manner is that it has only 1 tub instead of 2. And this tub serves as both the washer and spin dryer.

With an impressive 1-cubic-foot (28 liters) of space in the stainless steel tub, it holds a load of up to 6 pounds.

I don’t know about you. But after reviewing it and conducting a vote from members of our team, it turns out that more of us prefers such a setup rather than the twin tub design.

Because not only will this design help you save more floor space, it also removes the need to transfer wet clothing from a washer to a spin dryer.

You can basically dump your clothing in, set the timer and come back to it later with the spinning done.

But with the smaller floor space, the trade-off is a bigger air space due to a taller height. This will matter little unless you have some kind of design set up that uses ledges and wall-installed stands.

Make no mistake. This bestseller is a premium priced portable washing machine.

And it shows with it’s electronic control panel and LED indicator lights. Soft push buttons allow the user to set between 3 water levels and up to 3 wash cycles.

Amazingly quiet while operating, it even has castor wheels for easy moving around. Imagine rolling this into a caravan.

This is undoubtedly a high end high quality product. It is like a shrunk down version of a regular washing machine while retaining it’s power and abilities.

This model will look posh in any house or apartment design layout.

But in view of the price, we find it hard to list it as out top pick. At the same time, after putting it through vigorous tests, we cannot bring ourselves to leave it out of our list as well.

5) Pyle PUCWM22

The Pyle PUCWM22 is an electric portable washing machine and spin dryer with a compact durable design.

It is a twin tub washer very practical for small apartments.

With 2 separate motors encased in the plastic housing, it allows simultaneous wash and spin just like the Della model.

However being oval shaped from the top view, it does not have corners, spotting very rounded edges. Therefore it might not be ideal for homeowners who prefer their appliances with distinctive corners so as to blend smoothly into home design.

6) ThinkGizmos TG23 Portable Washing Machine

While the ThinkGizmos TG23 has a somewhat identical form factor as the Della, BCP, and Giantex, many users felt that it’s aesthetics stand out with it’s jet black top covers, pure white housing, and matte finish.

And it backs up it’s modern looks with a strong and sturdy body housing it’s twin tubs.

It has comparable dimensions and capacity to some of the washing machine models we’ve tested.

The timers can be set to… 15 minutes and 5 minutes for the washer and spinner.

While ThinkGizmos TG23 has excellent build quality and impressive specifications to match the twin tub models on the list, it’s price led us to determine that the models from BCP and Della offer better value.

However, it is still a high quality product that deserves to be mentioned as one of the best portable washing machines.

Which one to buy?

With the exception of Haier HLP21N Pulsator, all washing machines are twin tub models.

This means that if you desire a space-saving single tub washer/dryer, the one from Haier is definitely the one to get.

You have a luxury of options when it comes to twin tub portable washing machines.

Best Choice Products, Della, and Giantex have very similar looking machines but with varying load capacities. So deciding between these 3 will come down to how much of a washer and spin dryer you need.

If you want premium build quality, then ThinkGizmos TG23 will not look out of place at all in a modern designed house. And it has the power to back up it’s good looks.

Finally, if you have set aside space in the house to locate this washing machine, remember to measure the space as you don’t want to end up purchasing a model that don’t fit the space limitations.
